George Park Obituary

George M. Park, 77, of Buffalo Twp., passed away peacefully on Monday, June 15, 2020 at Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia in Cabot. George was born in the South Side of Pittsburgh on September 20, 1942, a son of the late Mary A. (Malette) and Charles F. Park. George was employed as an Engineering Specialist at Gulf Research/UPark in Harmar for many years. George was a history buff, particularly Civil War, WW II, and Pittsburgh History. He was an avid HO scale Model Train collector and was a life member of the National Model Railroad Association. He was a sports fan with NASCAR and football being two of his favorites. He loved his family and would always get little surprises for them. Known in area quilt stores as the ‘Scrap Bag’ man, he made sure his wife Janice had plenty of fabric. A lover of climate-controlled environments, chocolate, music, and fast cars. George was The King of Sarcasm and a ‘slight’ exaggerator, he always enjoyed a little comic aside. His presence will be missed, his impact will be forever, and his wisdom remembered. George is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janice A. (Adams) Park. His two daughters, Bonnie Park, of Freeport; Beth & Don Creighton, of Hyde Park, NY and his son, Jim & Dana Park, of Hephzibah, GA.
