Georgie Ann Bargerstock Obituary

Georgie Ann Bargerstock, 92, of Freeport, formerly of Allegheny Twp., passed away peacefully Monday, September 21, 2026, at her daughter’s residence, where she was loved and cared for for the last four years. Born July 9, 1934, in Creighton, she was the daughter of the late George W. Woolslayer and Josephine (Sobotka) Woolslayer. Georgie Ann was a 1952 graduate of East Deer Frazier High School. She was a homemaker and taught organ and piano, at home, for 25 years. She was a longtime member of Puckety United Presbyterian Church in Lower Burrell, where she was active in the church choir for more than 50 years. Music was an important part of Georgie Ann’s life. She played the organ and piano at church and especially loved playing duets with her daughter. She was also involved in a musical trio and Dixieland Band. In recognition of her musical talent, Georgie Ann was selected to participate in the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of the Tarentum Bridge. She was one of the first Meals on Wheels cooks in the area at Puckety Church and continued for more than 50 years. Georgie Ann was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. Her homemade pierogies and seafood dinner on Christmas Eve never disappointed. Her son-in-law especially enjoyed her breaded pork chops and chicken and biscuits. Never a day without something baked, apple squares and pies were some of her best. She is survived by her loving daughter, Debra and son-in-law, Jeff Shockey; sons, Robert Wade Bargerstock, Jr. and wife Elaine (Earhart), and Terry Bargerstock. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Robert and Nicole Bargerstock, III, Erin and Sergio Murillo, Ryan Bargerstock, Jamie and Benton Wainscott, Austin and Stephanie Shockey, Derek Bargerstock, and Matthew and Courtney Bargerstock, as well as 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by special friends and caregivers, Nancy Lang of Lower Burrell and Janet Wolmerdorf of Vandergrift. Thank you to Mandi, Jen, Mary Grace and Sarah, the most caring, compassionate and supportive hospice team of Interim Health Care. Georgie Ann was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband, Robert Wade Bargerstock, Sr., in 2006; her parents; daughter-in-law, Linda (Scott) Bargerstock; and baby brother, Ronald Frank Woolslayer. Service and burial will be private for the family at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Georgie Ann’s memory to Lower Burrell Meals on Wheels and Freeport Meals on Wheels.
