Gladys A. Reed, 88, of Ben Wheeler, TX, formerly of Sarver, passed away Wednesday, May 17th, at The Hospice of East Texas. Gladys was born in Sarver, on August 14, 1934, a daughter of the late Helen (Kelley) and Ralph Reinhold. She was the widow of Harry J. Reed, who passed away in 2010. She was a former member of New Hope Baptist Church in Saxonburg. Gladys had previously worked at DuCo Ceramics, Roenigk Bus and at the Sarver Post Office. She enjoyed baking, cross stitch and reading. Gladys is survived by her son Thomas (Bonnie) Reed, of Ben Wheeler, TX, and daughter, Denise (Ernie Henry) Reed, of Rancho Cordova, CA. She is also survived by grandchildren Nathanael Reed, Connie Bell, Jennie (Bill) Westbrook, twins, Gregory & Robert Viruet, Emilee Reed and Harry Reed IV; great-grandchildren, Marissa Bell, Jacob Bell, Abigail Westbrook, Aryanna Viruet, twins, Abigail & Alyssa Viruet, Harper Westbrook, and sisters Bernice Myers, of Winfield Twp. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons Carl Reed and Harry J. Reed III. Sister, Stella Strobel. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 16th at 3 pm in the Freeport Cemetery Chapel in Freeport, with Pastor Mike McDeavitt officiating.
