Goldie M. (Shotts) Schreckengost

Goldie M. Schreckengost, 89, of South Buffalo Twp., passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021 peacefully, at Assisted Living at Rosebrook in Sarver. Goldie was born in Ford Cliff, on October 30, 1932, a daughter of the late Sylvia (Matthews) and Edward Shotts. She was the widow of Robert K. "Skip" Schreckengost, who passed in 2018. Goldie was employed as a cook at Freeport Area School High School for over 30 years, retiring in 1993. Goldie also worked for many years as an Armstrong Co. Jury Commissioner and for the Armstrong Co. Board of Elections. She was a member of both the Freeport Eagles and the South Buffalo Vol. Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliaries. She enjoyed bingo, bowling, baking, reading and spending time with her family. Goldie is survived by her sons Robert C. (Pam) Schreckengost, of Freeport and Jeffrey L. (Karen) Schreckengost, of Ford City. Her grandchildren, Tonya (Doug) Lang, Rob (Christina) Schreckengost, Stacy (Andy) Patton, April (Chad) Kordes and Steve (Anna) Schreckengost. Great grandchildren, David & Alyssa Blondeaux, Makayla & Kendyll Schreckengost, Austin, Aiden & Alex Patton and great great granddaughters Sofia Santillo, Alivia and Ella Kordes. Goldie is also survived by two sisters, Jean Kellner, of Kittanning; Marg Good, of OH. In addition to her parents and husband, Goldie is preceded in death by her brother, Edward Shotts. Family and friends will be received on Monday, December 20th from 3-6 pm in Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. in Freeport, PA. Funeral service will be held at 6 pm on Monday, December 20th following the visitation in the funeral home with Pastor Berry Leicher officiating. A family burial will be held in Freeport Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to, Orphans of the Storm 11878 PA-85 Kittanning, PA 16201.
