Grace C. (Straughn) Fatchet

Grace C Fatchet, 75, of the McVille section of Freeport, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights. Grace was born in Natrona Heights on October 23, 1947, a daughter of the late Eva (Crompton) and Raymond Straughn, Sr. Grace was a 1965 graduate of Freeport Area High School and a graduate of Pittsburgh Beauty Academy in New Ken. Grace worked as a secretary for PPG Industries in Creighton short time before starting her family. Grace was a member of the Diamond Dolls, Garnett Good Time Girls, Town & Country Decorative Painters and Golden Triangle Painters. She was an accomplished painter and sold her artwork all over the United States. Grace loved people and they loved her in return. Her motto was to treat people the way she would want treated and she truly lived by that. Grace is survived by her husband of 55 years, Calvin F. Fatchet. Daughter, Dawn R. Polka, of West Kittanning and her son, Bryan C. and Natale Fatchet, of Moseley, VA; Five grandchildren, Michaela, Noah & Alexanderia Polka and Gabriel and Lily Fatchet. She is also survived by her brother, Raymond and Pam Straughn, Jr., of Freeport. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, July 11th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. in Freeport. Funeral service will be held 1:30 pm on Wednesday, July 12th at Zion United Methodist Church in Sarver, PA with Rev. Seth McClymonds, Jr. officiating. Burial will be held in McVille Union Cemetery in South Buffalo Twp. In lieu of flowers, Grace's family wants everyone to hug and kiss the ones you love!
