Henrietta Garvin Obituary

Henrietta Garvin, 90, of Saxonburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 26, 2020, at The Seasons of Saxonburg. Henrietta was a longtime resident of Buffalo Twp. She was born in Pittsburgh on December 19, 1930, daughter of the late Gustave and Thelma (Stevenson) Scheerbaum. She was the widow of Theodore "Ted" Garvin, who passed in 1974, and her first husband, William A. Erb, who passed in 1958. Henrietta had worked for Horne's Department Store and Klingensmith's Hardware Store, both in Natrona Heights. She also worked at Du-Co Ceramics in Saxonburg. Henrietta enjoyed traveling, shopping, crocheting, and spending time at the senior center in Saxonburg. She loved to be with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeport. Henrietta is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Bachman, of Petrolia, and Deborah (Charles) Huth, of Buffalo Twp.; and her stepson, Bill (Judy) Garvin, of Coconut Creek, Florida. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Shelley (Mike) Whipkey, Crystal Stark, Kristen (Greg) Rowe, C. Bryan (Katie) Huth, Gregory (Trista) Huth, and Kari Huth and her fiancé, Nathan Gillespie; her step-grandchildren, Melissa Garvin, Suzanne (Curtis) Kellogg, and Laura (Danielle Lanteigne) Garvin; 8 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Henrietta is also survived by her brother, Earl (Elaine) Scheerbaum, of Buffalo Twp. Henrietta is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; her brother, Melvin Scheerbaum; and her sister, Harriett Mackrell. At the family's request, there will be no public visitation. A private burial will be held in Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell.
