Irene D. (Olczak) Welling

Irene D. Welling, 95, of Buffalo Twp. passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024 peacefully, at Grey's Colonial Acres Home, Kittanning, PA. Irene was born in Freeport on January 30, 1929, a daughter of the late Helen (Dobrzynski) and John Allen Olczak, Sr. She was the widow of Robert L. Welling, Sr. who passed in 2011. Irene was a 1947 graduate of Freeport High School. She was employed as a school van driver at W.L. Roenigk in Sarver for many years. She was a member of St. Mary, Mother of God Church in Freeport. Irene loved cooking for friends and family and traveling with husband to Arizona in winter. She made many new friends with staff and residents at Grey's Colonial during her stay.  Irene is survived by her son, Robert L. & Linda Welling, Jr., of Kittanning. 2 grandsons, Michael & Rae Ellen Welling of Buffalo Twp. and Benjamin & Helene Welling of New Sewickley Twp., She is also survived by her 6 great grandchildren: Brooke & Cameron Welling and Raylen, Reiker, Journey and Lyric and Shyler Welling and daughter in law, Mary Ann Harding, of South Buffalo Twp. In addition to her parents and husband, Irene is preceded by her brothers, John Allen Olzcak, Jr. and Edward Olzcak At the family's request there will be no public visitation. Burial will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery Freeport, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice
