James T. "Jim" Blair, 83, of Sarver, passed away Wednesday, May 22nd, at UPMC Mercy.
James was born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 21, 1941, a son of the late Catherine "Casey" (Henderson) and Roy E. Blair.
Jim was a graduate of Freeport High School, Class of 1959. Jim attended the University of Maryland where he played football and wrestled. He was employed in communications and marketing. He owned and operated his own business Specialty Phones in Freeport. After retirement, he became a caregiver for his grandchildren. Jim was a member of the Buffalo Twp. Parks and Recreation Committee. He enjoyed sailing at Moraine State Park. Jim loved hunting, fishing, boating, and cooking.
Surviving are his sons, Chris (Amy) Blair of Ewing, New Jersey and Bart (Cindy) Blair of Bridgewater, NJ, his daughter, Yvette (James) Beck of S. Buffalo Twp., 8 grandchildren; B.J., Brittany, Luke, Hope, Blair, Nikki, Bridget, and Joy, and his siblings, Karen Egan of Natrona Heights, Michael A. Blair of Atlanta and Patrick J. (Cindy) of Florida, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn "Kathy" Blair who passed away on May 18, 2024, and his sister, Mary Lou Blair.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Redmond Funeral Home, Inc., 524 High Street, Freeport.
Additional visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 10-11 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 323 Fifth Street, Freeport. A funeral service will follow at 11 am with Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Truscott officiating.
