James Walter Gross, 82 of East Pittsburgh, passed away Tuesday, October 29th, at VA Hospital - HJ Heinz Campus, Pittsburgh. James was born in Wellsboro, NY on February 26, 1942 to the late Howard and Blanche (Cutler) Gross. Jim was a proud US Army veteran, serving almost 14 years in the military. He was a heavy equipment mechanic for 45 years and enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He is survived by his children, Jim (Tammy) Gross, Jr., Mike Gross, Wanda Sue (Jim) Allen, Jamie Gross, Jeremy Gross and Dana (Mindy) Gross. Jim is also survived by many grandchildren, his siblings, Ronald Gross, Lee Anthony Gross, Sandra (Mike) Bojsec, and Robert Gross, and his lifelong companion, Judy Gross Kelly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Gross Elliott and brothers, Eugene Gross and Richard Gross. There will be no visitation or services. Interment with military honors will take place at a later date at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
