Janeann Barrett DeLeon entered the presence of Lord on Wednesday, March 29th, at her home in Freeport PA. Having reached the age of 87, Janeann was born in Freeport on December 11, 1935, the daughter of the late Gertrude (Thompson) and Charles E. Barrett. Janeann was united in holy matrimony in Texas to Alejandro "Alex" DeLeon and to this union were born two daughters. After almost 51 loving years of marriage Alex went to be with the Lord in 2016.

She was an active member at Centenary United Methodist Church during this time. Her career was in early childhood education and Janeann, alongside partners, designed and began the preschool at the First Presbyterian Church in Smithfield at which she taught until she retired. Janeann loved to teach and write and after she returned home to Freeport, she served as substitute in several schools including Freeport and Natrona, as well as she had in her younger years traveled to teach in Maine and abroad in England. England is where she met her beloved husband Alex. She held her church membership at Freeport UMC for over 10 years and was also a member of the Freeport College Club and Freeport Renaissance Association.
