Janene DeLeon Obituary

Janene DeLeon was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday August 20th, 2024. She passed away peacefully at Platinum Ridge Center for Nursing and Rehab, Brackenridge, PA.

Born September 23rd, 1971 at Naval Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee to the late Alejandro "Alex" and JaneAnn (Barrett) DeLeon.

Janene graduated from Smithfield-Selma High School on June 7th, 1991 Smithfield, N.C. During her time lived in Smithfield N.C. she was embraced by her loving church family at Centenary United Methodist Church in Smithfield. Several years after graduation, she moved to Freeport, PA where she lived with her parents before moving into her own apartment at "The High Rise" (Freeport Towers), where she became a loved member of the residential community there.

She was a long time member of Freeport United Methodist Church. Before moving to Platinum Ridge, Janene at East Deer Personal Care Home, Creighton, PA., where she was cared for by the dedicated staff.

Janene was laid to rest beside her parents in a private ceremony at Freeport Cemetery, conducted by Redmond Funeral Home Inc., Freeport.

She is survived by her sister Alysia (DeLeon) and husband Jason Phipps, her niece, Miranda Phipps and nephew, Alexander “Alec” Phipps all of Selma, N.C., as well as cousins in Pennsylvania, Texas and California.

The family would like to thank all of the doctors and medical teams that helped Janene during and after her illness, and the Medi-Hospice Services and staff that helped make Janene comfortable with end of life care.
