Jim L Lucas, 81, of Freeport, PA, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Jim was born in New Kensington, on April 27, 1942, a son of the late Edna Mae (Shirey) Bowser and Fred Lucas. Jim's father was killed on D-Day in Normandy France in 1944. Jim was raised by his mother and his new father, the late Edwin Bowser. Jim was a graduate of Freeport High School and received his electrical engineering degree from Geneva College. He was employed as an nuclear engineer at Westinghouse/KRW Energy Systems in Cheswick. After his retirement, Jim was able to fulfill his life long dream of owning and operating a fishing charter on Lake Ontario. Jim was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren Jim is survived by his wife of 60 years, Donna J. (Gray) Lucas. Two daughters, Tammy and Jim Ashbaugh, of South Buffalo Twp.; Michelle and Tim Keener, of South Buffalo Twp. 5 grandchildren, Jimmie R. Lucas, Brandon Ashbaugh, Cassie Jo Woods, Lucas & Ashlie Woods and Brad Keener. 5 great grandchildren, Keigan, Maverick, Dexter, Judah and Lucie. Jim is also survived by three sisters, Janet and Randy Stivenson , Sandy Klingensmith and Gerry McCollum. Four brothers, Bill and Laurie Bowser, Sonny Bowser, Don Bowser, Ken Bowser. Sister in law, Mary Ellen Gray and many special nieces and nephews. A private immediate family burial was held at Slate Lick Cemetery, Kittanning, PA.
