John Gaydos, 70, of Sarver, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
John was born in Natrona Heights, on August 13, 1955, son of the late Anna (Ziacik) and John Gaydos.
He was the husband and best friend of Barbara (Toy) Gaydos, who he married August 16, 1980.
John was a graduate of Freeport High School, Class of 1973. He devoted his career to public service as the Road Master for Buffalo Township, where he worked with dedication and integrity, maintaining and clearing the roads of snow, for 47 years until his retirement in 2020.
John found great joy in the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, farming, spending time at his camp, and sharing these passions with those he loved. When his children were younger, John joyfully spent his evenings and weekends coaching Freeport Little League baseball and softball and soccer. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Tracie (John) Cline, of Wyndmoor, Matthew (Heather) Gaydos of Keller, Texas, Daniel (Natalie) Gaydos of Oakmont and Kathleen (Thomas) Savinda of Sarver. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren Joshua Gaydos, John "Jack" Gaydos, Zachary Cline, James Gaydos, Gemma Gaydos and one grandchild on the way, as well as his siblings, Joseph Gaydos, Janice Moore, Eileen Palko and Mary Matis, father-in-law Francis Toy and his brother and sister in-law, Richard Toy and Karen Heilman.
John’s family is deeply grateful for the compassionate care and unwavering support from John’s caregivers during John's final journey, bringing comfort and dignity.
