Judy E. Keener, 79, of Freeport, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025 at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Judy was born in Kittanning on September 30, 1945, a daughter of the late Florence (Claypool) and Frank Dougherty.
Judy was a dedicated homemaker and a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church in Kittanning. She and her husband, Bill, were married at Union Baptist Church, where they both served as youth counselors and Judy was actively involved in the ladies missions, worked as a janitor and was a member of the church choir. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family, who were the center of her life.
She is survived her by husband, William H. Keener, married by Pastor Childs on October 29, 1965, two daughters, Janine (Robert) Stewart, of Worthington and Korinne (Jeffrey) Long, of Kittanning; 7 grandchildren; Robert Long of Worthington, Zachery Long of Freeport, Lindsay Long of Worthington, Robert (Elizabeth) Stewart, Jr. of Worthington, Rebecca Stewart of Pittsburgh, Katelyn Stewart of Worthington and Jessica Stewart of Pittsburgh, 5 great grandchildren; Caden, Carter, Naazir, Oliver Stewart, and Alexander Stewart, a sister, Nancy (Tom) Bielski, of Glenshaw, a brother, Ray (Loretta) Dougherty, of Butler and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister in law, Tom and Frankie Jean Dougherty and sister and brother in law, Pat and Bill Elwood.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 6-8 pm and Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Redmond Funeral Home, Inc., 524 High Street, Freeport.
Additional visitation will be held on Thursday, July 10 from 10-11 am at the Grace Baptist Church, 527 Butler Road, Kittanning. A funeral service will follow at 11 am with Pastor Daniel Kaminski officiating.
Burial will be held in Lawn Haven Burial Estates Worthington.
