Karen Anderson Lentz, 80, of Sarver, PA, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 peacefully, at Quality Life Services in Sarver. Karen was born in New Kensington, on March 31, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Gladys (Bish) and William T. Anderson of Natrona Heights, PA. Karen was a former member of First Baptist Church, Tarentum, PA. She was the widow of William Lentz, who died in 1987. Karen graduated from Har-Brack High School in 1960 and Anderson-Broaddus Nursing College in 1964. Karen started her career in nursing as a nursing instructor in Bluefield Regional Medical Center, Bluefield, WV. She then moved on to be head of nursing training at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburg, PA followed by being director of nursing at the former hospital in Franklin, PA. She also served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves from 1968 to 1987. Karen is survived by her brother, Leighton T. and his wife Joanne Anderson, Sr., of Virginia Beach, VA. Her 2 nephews, Lee & Kristy Anderson, Jr. of Prosper, TX, Matthew Anderson & his fiancé Lauren Butterfield of Christiansburg, VA and her niece, Lori & Sam Feamster of Hinton, WV as well as 5 nephews, Zachary, Nicholas, & Eric Anderson and Jordan & Justin Feamster. At the family's request there will be no public visitation and Karen will be buried alongside her husband in the Emlenton Cemetery in Emlenton, PA.
