Linda Vorp Obituary

Linda G. Vorp, 90, of Freeport, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 28, 2025. Linda was born in Natrona Heights, on May 8, 1935, a daughter of the late Florence A. (Collins) and Chester A. Grove. She was the widow of Marlin Thomas Vorp, who passed away in 1988. She and her family owned and operated Vorp's Poultry Farm then she was a unit secretary at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights for 20 years. Linda enjoyed gardening, crafting, quilting and cross stitching. Her family will be kept warm and feel her close with her many handmade quilts and afghans. Linda is survived by her two daughters, Deborah (Donald) Lackey, of Stoneboro, PA; and Victoria Boardley, of Manakin Sabot, VA. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren Jamie (Paul) Stefko, Matthew (Jessica) Lackey & Ian (Leslie) Lackey, 1 great granddaughter, Isabelle Claire Lackey, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Andrew Lackey, sister Carolyn J. Prager, and brothers Samuel G. & Raymond L. Grove. Friends will be received on Friday, October 31, 2025 from 11 am - 1 pm at the Redmond Funeral Home, Inc., 524 High Street, Freeport. A funeral service will follow at 1 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pittsburgh Symphony Development Department, 600 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
