Lloyd A. (Jake) Faith Obituary

Lloyd Allen (Jake) Faith

September 21, 1951 - October 7, 2024

Jake's death was caused by a glioblastoma that was discovered in April 2024. Thank you for the many prayers that were said for him during this time in his life.

Thank you to all the caregivers at the VA, Worthington Family Practice, Shadyside Hospital, Hillman Cancer Center, Encompass Rehab, Butler VNA, QLS Sarver and Three Rivers Hospice that touched his life.

Jake was born in Natrona Heights and lived in the same home in the Freeport area all of his life. His parents were Lloyd M. (Jake) Faith and Dorothy Stephens Faith of Freeport. He is survived by his sister, Jayne Boarts, his nephew, Jesse Boarts, and Jesse's family: wife Sarah, and sons, Luke and Logan.

Jake was a 1970 graduate of Freeport High School. His continued education included various trades.

Jake proudly served in the Navy active duty, followed by reserves, February 1973 - July 1978.

Jake worked many jobs in his life. Most of Jake's working years were as a coal miner in multiple locations and positions.

Jake was blessed with and appreciated his many local lifetime friends.

Jake was an active member of the Coolspring Power Museum for over 40 years. He gave his all for a smooth running event as field coordinator for the gas engine shows and flea markets held at Coolspring, PA, twice a year. He loved working on the antique engines and he loved the wonderful people associated with the engine world. These people were his extended family. Jake's extended family was made up of people all over the United States and beyond. He enjoyed shows and camaraderie in many locations; some of the locations were Portersville, PA, Brownsville, PA, Sistersville, WV, Ashtabula, OH, Lebanon, PA and several annual events through The Florida Flywheelers. So many people counted on him for his knowledge of things associated with the antique engine world and his sense of humor.

Jake loved the people around him. He often said, "it doesn't cost anything to be nice." Every year, between Thanksgiving and Christmas, he sent singing Christmas cards. Last year he sent over 1260. He was informed by 3 friends that he forgot to call them with his card. Jake will be missed.

There will be no viewing or memorial service or request for donations. If you knew and loved the unique person Jake was, smile and appreciate the fact that he touched your life.
