It is with deep sadness that we must announce the passing of Margaret (Shotts) Good. She passed away Thursday, May 29, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was 98 years old. Margaret was born to and preceded in death by Edward and Sylvia Shotts, was raised in Ford Cliff, and attended Ford City High School. During WWII, she was a Rosie at PPG Glass in Ford City, making prisms for radar. Her name is located on the Rosie Tribute Wall at the Michigan Flight Museum. She married David Good and they loved to bowl, square dance and enjoy their two children Eddie Dean and Yvonne and the rest of their family and friends.Margaret and David moved to Ashland, OH in 1971 and were active in the Brethren Church. She worked at the Kittanning Hospital and retired from UH Samaritan Medical Center in Ashland, Ohio. She enjoyed word searches, had a lifelong love of cats and a lifelong trust in God. In recent years she lived with her daughter Yvonne and grandson Brian and became a beloved member of the Freeport community. She is survived by her daughter Yvonne (Good) Christie of Freeport and her grandchildren, David and Amie Good of CA, Robin (Good) Collins of OH, Jennifer Christie of MI, Kathy (Christie) and Vaughn Check of Sarver and Brian Christie of Freeport. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren and her loving sister, Jean (Shotts) Kellner of Kittanning and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Gary and Barbara Gorton and family from Ashland, OH, who were like family to her. She is preceded in death by her husband David, her son Edward and his wife Francilla, her brother Edward Shotts and his wife Marjorie, her sister Goldie (Shotts) Schreckengost and her husband Robert, her brother in law, James Kellner, and her nephews Butch and Rob Kellner and Bob Schreckengost. Yvonne is enormously grateful to her children, cousins and friends who have been a great source of support to her as she provided care to her mother. She would also like to extend her deep gratitude to all the AHN Hospice staff that have assisted with Margaret's care this past year. We truly love them. Margaret was able to pass away gently at home surrounded by her family. She was kind, gentle and was loved by all who met and knew her. Her loving and meaningful life will be deeply missed. There will be no public visitation or services. A private family internment will be held in Ashland County Memorial Park in Ashland, OH.
