Marlene D. Steinke, 64 of South Buffalo Twp., passed away peacefully on March 19, 2023, at the Spring Creek Nursing & Rehab Center in Green Springs, OH. Marlene was born in Natrona Heights, on June 10, 1958, a daughter of Edith Mae (Kelly) Smock, of South Buffalo Twp. and the late Roger Wayne Smock. Marlene was a 1976 graduate of Freeport Area High School and received her associates degree from Median School of Medical Arts in Pittsburgh. She was employed as a material management supervisor at Allegheny Valley Hospital Natrona Heights, PA., for over 30 years. She was a member of Freeport United Methodist Church. Marlene was very active in the Class of 76' reunion committee. She enjoyed counter cross stitching, spending time at the family camp in Slippery Rock and going to the Portersville steam engine show. Marlene is survived by her husband of 43 years, Craig D. Steinke. Daughter, Cassandra M. & Andrew Mastarone, of King George, VA. and her son, Eugene L. Steinke, of South Buffalo Twp. 4 grandchildren, Christian & Landon Mastarone, Gabriella Steinke and Sofia Santillo. Marlene is also survived by two sisters, Barbara & Joe Beri, of Gibsonia; Marjorie & Jeff Campbell of New Kensington and her brother, John Smock, of South Buffalo Twp. Marlene is preceded in death by her father and her sister, Janice Strausser. Family and friends will be received on Thursday March 23rd from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St., in Freeport, PA. Funeral service will be held on Friday March 24th at 1 pm in the Freeport United Methodist Church with Pastor Diane Randolph officiating. Burial will be held in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ALS Association, Western PA Chapter 416 Lincoln Ave Pittsburgh, PA 15209
