Mary Louise Filer, 88, of Mars peacefully passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023, at UPMC Passavant – McCandless accompanied by her family. Mary Louise is formerly of Freeport and had lived for most of the past 20 years in North Fort Myers, FL. Mary Louise was born in Natrona Heights, on June 13, 1934, a daughter of the late Sophia (Pukal) and Charles Lesneski, Sr. She was the widow of William Filer, who passed in 2007. She was a 1952 graduate of Brackenridge High School. Mary Louise worked for many years as a produce manager of Carmelo’s Grocery Store in Freeport and an operator for North Pittsburgh Telephone Co. in Wexford. She also worked for Thrift Drug in O'Hara Twp. She was an active member of St. Mary, Mother of God Church in Freeport, and St. Francis Xavier in Fort Myers. Mary Louise enjoyed playing bingo, cards or a trip to the casino to play her favorite slot machines She is survived by her son, Charles A. Oshurak of Mars, and her two granddaughters, Vivienne and Madeline Mary Louise is preceded in death by her parents, first husband, E.A. "Snuffy" Beers in 1972. Second husband husband, John Oshurak in 1982 and the above-mentioned third husband, William Filer in 2007 and her brother, Charles "Slug" Lesneski, Jr. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, March 1st from 5-8 pm in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, INC. 524 High St. in Freeport, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday, March 2nd at St. Mary, Mother of God Church in Freeport, with Msgr. Gilbert Gente officiating. Burial will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery Freeport, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718
