Obituary

Mary Ann (Lynch) Painter, 81, of South Buffalo Township, Freeport, entered heaven’s gates Sunday morning January 8, 2023, at home surround by her family. She was born November 30, 1941, in Natrona Heights, Pa., the daughter of the late Ralph Huffman Lynch and Hilda Mary Porter Lynch. Mary Ann was a 1959 graduate of HarBrack High School and 1962 graduate of Allegheny Valley School of Nursing. She was a nurse at Allegheny Valley Hospital Med Surg Unit, Natrona Heights, in which she worked the same floor for her entire nursing career until her retirement in 2007. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, cooking, baking, shopping, collecting historical articles, donating to multiple charities, and doing her family genealogy. She has many books on the family dating back to the early 1800’s. She also loved to root for the Pittsburgh Steelers. She enjoyed her card club, playing 500 bid with the same ladies for over 40 years. She was a member of the former Tarentum History and Landmark Foundation. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Kenneth James Painter, and her children Kenneth Ralph (Karen Laux) Painter of Worthington; Ericca Leigh Painter (Thomas) Haynes of Franklin; Shannon Marie Painter (Paul) Wiser of Butler; and Joshua James (Gretchen Ulisky) Painter of Dayton. Her grandchildren Colleen Haynes (Michael) Cable of Franklin; Meghan Haynes of Akron, Ohio; Ian Haynes of Franklin; Ella Moretti of Butler; Shaelyn and Carter Wiser of Kittanning; great granddaughters Abby, Aaliyah, and Ally Cable of Franklin. Also, survived by brother, William Lynch (Nancy Faulkner Lynch) of Derry, New Hampshire; sister- in-laws Betty Lynch of St. Johns, Florida; Sandy Lynch of Black Lick, Ohio; Marilee Painter (David) Johnson of North Huntington; and brother-in-law John Charles (Kathy Tanel) Painter of Lexington, Kentucky. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and all her many friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Ralph, Lewis, and Robert and her in-laws, Kenneth and Marie McGee Painter. Friends will be received on Thursday, January 12th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc., 524 High St. in Freeport. Funeral Service on Friday, January 13th at 11 am in the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Roy Gearhart of Galloway Methodist Church, Franklin, PA. A private burial will be held in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights, Pa. Memorial contributions can be made to Grace Youth and Family Foundation, 100 Center Avenue, Butler, PA 16001 or Light of Life Rescue Mission, P.O.
