Mary A. (Penvose) Walters

Mary A. Walters, 98, of Cabot, PA, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020 peacefully at Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia in Cabot. Mary was a longtime resident of Allegheny Twp. Mary was born in Lanes Mills, PA on December 2, 1922, a daughter of the late Sarah (Pattison) and Joseph Penvose. She was the widow of Robert H. Walters who passed away in 1974. Mary had been an active member of United Presbyterian Church of Freeport and had served as an Elder for many years. She was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge in Freeport. Mary enjoyed camping, crocheting and craftwork. She hosted a radio show in the 1940's on the local Butler radio station. Mary loved to write poetry and has had her work published in the Library of Congress. Mary is survived by her two daughters, Diane Long of Shadyside and Sally (Charles) Wojnar of Allegheny Twp., 7 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Robert C. Walters and 5 brothers and 2 sisters. At the family's request there will be no public visitation.
