Mary Ann Yedlowski, 95, of South Buffalo Twp., passed away Friday, October 18, 2024. Born in Cleveland, OH on May 1, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Anna (Sidor/Kohut) Liko & Charles Kohut & the widow of Joseph L. Yedlowski, Jr. She received a degree in accounting at Penn Commercial College, worked for West Penn Power & later for Freeport Transport. Briefly, she taught business classes at Freeport Area High School. Mary Ann was a devout Christian & active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She taught Sunday school & was very involved in LCW, Lutheran Church Women. Mary Ann co-founded Freeport Meals on Wheels & served for almost 50 years. She was also a member of South Buffalo Fire Hall Auxiliary. Mary Ann loved hazelnut creamer, knitting (so many slippers!), mystery novels, double solitaire, jigsaw puzzles, & baking her famous nut horns. Most of all, she loved blessing her family in so many ways & cuddling with her constant companion, her pup Gisele. Mary Ann is survived by her children: Joseph (Nancy)Yedlowski II, of Cedar Hill, TX; Beth (David) Oziel, of South Buffalo, Thaddeus “Tad" (Beth) Yedlowski, of Oakdale, PA, & John "Jay" Yedlowski, of Tionesta, PA. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Abby (Reuben) Rios, Rachel (Charles) Reed, Liz (Cole) Thompson, all of TX, Aaron, Elise, & Jacob Oziel of Seattle, Hunter & Hayden Yedlowski of Oakdale, JJ Yedlowski of Aliquippa & his mother, Dorothy Croker of Brackenridge, & 6 great-grandchildren: Jackson Lettenmaier, Charles & Joseph Reed, & Peyton, Will & Caroline Thompson, all of TX, & many nieces & nephews. Besides her parents & husband, she was preceded in death by her much-adored step-father Samuel Liko, brothers John & Albert “Sam” Liko & sister Rosemary Koenig. A viewing will be at held at Redmond Funeral Home, Inc. 524 High St., Freeport on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29th at Trinity Lutheran Church, Freeport. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church 323 Fifth St. Freeport & South Buffalo VFD 695 Freeport Rd, Freeport, PA 16229.
