Michael James Furer, 49, of Freeport, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2026, surrounded by his family after a two‑year battle with gastric cancer. He was a graduate of Freeport High School and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Washington and Jefferson College. Mike worked as a Managing Director for LogicSource. Michael was a devoted son, husband, father, and friend who found joy in golf, storytelling, and cheering on his daughters in their pursuits. To know him is to love him. Michael is survived by his wife of 25 years, January (Haven) Furer, and his two daughters, Ruby and Roselyn Furer. He is also survived by two brothers, Jason (Gayle) Furer of Freeport and Gregory (Amanda) Furer of Pittsburgh, and his sister, Katie (Shawn) Kostelansky of Gainesville, GA. He is also survived by his parents‑in‑law, John and Jackie Haven; his sister‑in‑law, Jennifer (Steve) Morrow; and his beloved nieces and nephews: Cole (Samantha), Dean, Drew, Luke, Leo, Lucy, Abigail, Perry, and Everett. Per Mike’s request, there will be no public visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
