Mildred D. (Dininger) Cook

Mildred D. Cook, age 93, of Sarver, PA, passed away June 11, 2026. She was born to Paul P. Dininger and Sadie Dininger in the Butler Junction area of Butler County on January 25, 1933. Mildred attended a one-room school in the coal mining community of Butler Junction for eight years and completed her high school education in Freeport, graduating from Freeport High School in 1951. She gained employment at Freeport Brick Company where she was a shipping expeditor, recognized for more than 50 years of service. She also assisted her husband, William A. Cook, for years in the management of their trucking company. Mildred loved animals and supported many animal welfare groups. She enjoyed maintaining her home and surroundings, following the Pittsburgh Pirates, doing crossword puzzles, and was a student of American history. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; and sisters Kathleen Bowman, Dorothy Dininger; and brother Paul Dininger. She is survived by her sister, Lucille (Jay) Minich of Natrona Heights, PA; and nephews Randy Dininger, Ray (Debby) Dininger; and nieces Pam (Charles) Ayers, Amy (Wes) Harris, and Polly (Jeff) Skiles. A nephew, Jay Dininger, is also deceased. There is no public visitation. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Freeport Area Library, 428 Market Street, Freeport, PA 16229 or an animal welfare agency of your choice.
