Phyllis J. (Thimons) Hess

 Phyllis J. Hess, 78, of Freeport, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at UPMC Shadyside.

Phyllis was born in Kittanning on September 13, 1947, a daughter of the late Leonard and Mary Janukites Thimons. 

She attended Deer Lakes High School. Phyllis worked for 40 years at Tandem Healthcare as a CNA. She was a member of Srader Grove Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed Quebec lakes and trees, cooking, cleaning, baking and spending time with her pets and family.

Surviving are her loving husband of 22 years, Ronald J. Hess, her children, Renee (Dave) Seifert of Monroeville, Frank (Sylvia) Adams Jr. of Fenelton, Debbie Adams of Bovard and Rose Adams of Springdale, grandchildren, Brandon Adams, Kayla Seifert, Nolan Seifert, Lucas Adams and Thomas Lasher Jr, siblings, Robert (Linda) Thimons of Kentucky, Cindy (Joe) Chupka of Butler, Barb Durci of Sarver, Edwin (Debbie) Thimons of Cranberry Twp., Edgar (Betty) Thimons of Tarentum, and Bonnie (Steve) Reckhart of Sarver. She is also survived by her brother in law, Johnny Penk of Russellton, her best friend, Mary Lindgren of Russellton and her canine companion, Cody. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Simon Miller, sister, Sandy Penk, and brother in law Bill Durci.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 from 12- 3 pm at the Redmond Funeral Home, Inc. 524 High Street, Freeport. A funeral service will follow at 3 pm with Pastor Adam Clever officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Srader Grove Presbyterian Church, 108 Srader Grove Road, Freeport, PA 16229.

Everyone is invited to a luncheon at the Field House Restaurant, 911 N. Pike Road, Cabot, PA 16023 following the service.
