Richard L. Crabill, 82, of Freeport, passed away at his home on Sunday, June 27, 2021 while surrounded by his family. Rich was born in Tarentum on November 16, 1938, a son of the late Leona (Welch) and Robert Crabill. He was the widower of Donna M. Crabill who passed in 2019. Rich was a graduate of Har-Brack High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Army. He served for 3 years and after his honorable discharge, Rich signed up for another 3 years in the US Army reserves. Rich worked in material production for Allegheny Ludlum Steel in Brackenridge for 39 years, retiring in 2001. Rich was a member of St. Mary, Mother of God Church in Freeport. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Tarentum, Tarentum Elks Lodge No. 644 and the Freeport VFW Post - 6648, Rich enjoyed playing euchre, bowling, golfing, woodworking, coin collecting, swimming, going to camp and spending time with his family. Rich is survived by his 4 children, Terri (Kevin) Wolfe, of Freeport; Brian (Sue) Crabill, of Hyde Park, Shelly (Eric) Busch, of Loris, SC and Joy (Ed) Lang, of Freeport. He is also survived by 6 Grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren In addition to his parents and wife, Rich is preceded in death by his grandson, Kevin Tyler Wolfe. Sister, Jacqueline M. Aretz, Joy Lee Crabill and a brother, Robert Crabill. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, June 30th from 2-4 & 6-8 m in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. in Freeport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Thursday, July 1st at St. Mary, Mother of God Church in Freeport, PA with Rev. Edward Volz OPS officiating. Burial will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery Freeport, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Mary, Mother of God Church 608 High St., Freeport, PA 16229.
