Robert R. Ranieri

Robert R. "Bob" Ranieri, 80, of Freeport, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023, while surrounded by his family at his home. Bob was born June 18, 1943, in Natrona Heights, a son of the late Mary A. (Pofi) and Tranquillo Ranieri. Bob was a 1961 graduate of Freeport High School and the last graduating class at the old school in town. Bob began working for his Uncle Benny at Freeport Monumental Works when he was 14 years old. He purchased the family business in 1983 and worked there until his retirement in 2022. In his younger years, you would find Bob bartending every weekend at either Burdy's Bar, known now as The Rainbow or at Laube Hall. When he wasn't working at the monument works, Bob enjoyed golfing, hunting, going to camp and spending time with his family. He was a lifetime member of St. Mary, Mother of God Church, in Freeport. Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara L. (Riley) Ranieri; daughter, Pamela Ranieri and her husband, Robert Hogg; son, Anthony and Dee Ranieri, and daughter, Deanna and Doug Pack; and four grandchildren, Derek, Dominic, Amber and Emma. He is also survived by his four siblings, Barbara E. Becker, Nancy Wiggins, John "Jack" and Karen Ranieri and Patricia and David Luffy. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers-in-law, Willis Wiggins and Joseph Becker; and his nephew, Joey Becker. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, 2023, in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 High St., Freeport. At the family's request, funeral services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
