Robert Witenski Obituary

Robert John Witenski (Bob), 82, of South Buffalo Twp., passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 10, 2022 surrounded by family. Bob was born in Barnesboro, PA on January 6, 1940, a son of the late Helen (Petrisko) and John Witenski. Bob was a 1957 graduate of Northern Cambria High School. After graduation, Bob gained employment outside of New York City where he met and married Nancy. He was then drafted into the US Army and proudly served in the artillery stationed at Fort Sill, OK. At the completion of his tour, Bob moved to Freeport and took a position at Westinghouse EMD in Cheswick where he worked primarily as a machinist for over 30 years. Bob and his wife attended St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot where Bob participated in the Adult Luncheon and Kids Club ministries. Bob enjoyed spending his time with family and friends at the family camp and taking family vacations. He loved exploring shops and galleries supporting small artisans across numerous crafts, especially Native American Arts. He also had a love for classic cars and car shows that he shared with friend and co-worker, Brian Newhouse. Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nancy L. (Funk) Witenski. His 4 children, Robert Eugene Witenski, of Sarver; Craig (Amy) Witenski, of Cabot; Laura Lang, of S. Buffalo Twp. and Michael "Mick" (Angela) Witenski, of Moon Twp. 10 grandchildren Taylor, Marissa, Robert M., Tanner, Johnathon, Jacob, Benjamin, Rachel, Autumn, Trace; 4 great grandchildren Skylar, Reagan, Tess, Tierra. Bob is survived by his sister, Patricia (Thomas) Bell, of Rochester, NY and his brother, John A. (Ethel) Witenski, of Northern Cambria, PA. He was preceded in death by his brother Edwin Witenski. Family and friends will be received on Monday, February 14th from 5-8 pm in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. in Freeport. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 15th at 10:30 am in the funeral home with Pastor Jarrod Townley officiating. Burial will be held in Freeport Cemetery Freeport, PA. The family expresses extreme gratitude to the skilled and compassionate employees of Good Samaritan Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke Lutheran School 330 Hannahstown Road Cabot, PA 16023.
