Samuel T. Kestner, Sr., 84, of Allegheny Twp. formerly of Freeport, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023, peacefully, at Belair Health and Rehab. Center in Lower Burrell. Sam was born in Natrona Heights on June 9, 1939, a son of the late Hazel M. (Lloyd) and David S. Kestner. He was the widower of Mary Lou (Stull) Kestner who passed away in 2006. Sam was a 1958 graduate of Freeport High School. After high school, Sam enlisted in the US Army. After his service to his country, Sam came home and took a job with W.L Roenick. He was a truck driver for 40 years, retiring in 2001. Sam was an avid pool player and was a long-time member of the "Dugout Pool Team”. He enjoyed going to his camp, fishing and loved mowing grass. Sam is survived by his daughter, Darla and Daniel George, Sr. of Allegheny Twp. Two sons, Samuel T. Kestner, Jr., Chad, and Elaine Kestner, all of Freeport. Grandchildren, Daniel and Caitlin George, Jr, Dustin Kestner, Alexis Kestner (Bradley Kyle). Great grandchildren, Natalie Faye George, and Harlow Takota Kyle. Samuel is also survived by his three sisters, Marlene Campbell, Carol and John Singer. Barbara and Tim Vogal and two sisters in law's Candy Kestner and Judy Kestner In addition to his parents and wife, Sam is preceded by his four brothers, David "Bud", Donald, Kenneth, and Clair Kestner. And his sister, Jane Doverspike. At the family's request there will be no public visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to; Kiski Valley Community Church, 219 Market St. Leechburg, PA 15656.
