Sylvia Joan Staricek, 87, currently of Oil City, PA, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022, at Oakwood Heights in Oil City where she had resided these past 4 years. She was a long time resident of Srader Grove Road, South Buffalo Twp. Freeport, PA. Sylvia was born in West Tarentum, PA on December 18, 1934, a daughter of the late Eleanor (Gretz) Polimadei-Gohn and the late Joseph Polimadei. Sylvia graduated from East Deer Frazer High School in 1952 and married her high school sweetheart, Andrew P. Staricek on Feb. 13th, 1954. Sylvia is preceded in death by her husband Andrew on Jan 6th, 2013, her parents, sisters Audrey Montemuro, Yvonne Polimadei and a step brother Andrew Gohn . Sylvia loved the outdoors. She enjoyed gardening, hunting, trout fishing from their canoe, numerous fishing trips in Canada, bicycling many PA bike trails and camping at Chapman State Park where they were campground hosts for many years. She and her husband were able to take their dream camping adventure together when they did a month long motor home trip throughout the state of Alaska. Sylvia is survived by her three daughters, Theresa (David) Spang, of Oil City; Donna (Stanley) Romanowski, of South Buffalo Twp. and Janet Ebel, of Venice, FL. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lisa (Jeff) O’Connor, Victoria (Mike) Ostrowski, Julie Phillips, Jeni Spang and Andy Spang. Great grandchildren, Adam & Ian O’Connor, Felicia & Aleksander Ostrowski, Anthony & Henry Phillips and numerous nieces and nephews. At Sylvia's request there will be no public visitation. A private immediate family burial will be held at the Freeport Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice in memory of Sylvia
