Thomas W. Watt, 64, of Buffalo Township, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022, peacefully at his home. Tom was born Dec. 13, 1957, in Greensburg, a son of the late Patricia (Pepperell) and Bevington John "Tim" Watt Jr. Tom was a graduate of Greensburg Salem High School, Class of 1975. Tom started working on cars and trucks at age 14 at his family's business, Watt's Truck Center, Latrobe. He was employed as an ASE certified technician with No. 1 Cochran. He was a mechanic for over 40 years. Tom was a multi-time recipient of the special recognition award from Cadillac. He was the long-time NHRA tech director at Keystone Raceway. Tom enjoyed drag racing with his wife, bicycling, camping with his family in Erie. Tom was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Freeport. Tom is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sherry R. (Frampton) Watt; son, tech sergeant Thomas Watt, of Lancaster, Calif.; daughter, Angela Watt, of Buffalo Township; and his two grandchildren, Jayden and Jacey Lehota. Tom is also survived by his brothers, Bevington John Watt III and Robin Meighen, of New Alexander; Robert and Sandra Watt, of Latrobe; and his sister, Mary Ann Watt, of Latrobe. Tom is preceded by his parents and his brother, Timothy A. Watt. Family and friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday May 29 at REDMOND FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 High St., in Freeport, PA 16229. A Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. in the funeral home following the viewing with Pastor Eric Damon officiating.
