Vernon C. "Butch" Troutman, Jr., 79, of Natrona Heights, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023 while surrounded by his family, at his home. Butch was born in Kittanning on December 16, 1943, a son of the late Freda W. (Wolfe) and Vernon C. Troutman, Sr. Butch graduated from Arlington High School in Virginia and then enlisted in the US Airforce. He spent 20 years in the service working as a civil engineer, reaching the highest rank for a noncommissioned officer of Senior Master Sergeant. He received his master’s degree in civil engineering from St. Leo University while in the service. Butch retired from the military and took an engineering position with Bechtel Engineering working on C02 Production Plants. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post #8755 in Sheffield, PA. Butch enjoyed fishing, hunting, sport shooting and going to his camp and spending time with his family. Butch is survived by his wife, Barbara M. (Marshall) Troutman. Two daughters, Kerri & Robert Ross, Olivia & Alan "Tiddle" Walker and son, Scott & Pam Troutman, Sr. His grandchildren; Jessica & Robert Tench, Scott & Sarah Troutman, Jr., Emily & Cody Flora, Bailey Troutman and Madison Walker and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Carol Boyer. Nephew, Chantz & Lisa Boyer and niece, Jennifer & Erik Steffan. Butch is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Kathleen D. Baum. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, November 28th from 11 am - 1 pm in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. in Freeport, PA. Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, November 28th in the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Truscott officiating.
