William H. "Bill" Lenz, 81, of South Buffalo Twp. passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at his home. Bill was born in Pittsburgh on July 18, 1940, a son of the late Frances Louise (Rimmel) and Harry Edward Lenz. He was the widower of Katherine A. "Kitty" (Killeen) Lenz who passed in 2012. Bill was a 1958 graduate of Springdale High School. He was drafted into the US Army and was stationed at the Army War College in Carlisle, PA. Bill attended the New Kensington campus of Penn State University where he received his associates degree in electrical engineering in 1960. Bill was employed as a maintenance foreman at Allegheny Ludlum Steel in Brackenridge for 38 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeport and of the Tarentum Lodge of the Pittsburgh Syria Shriners. He enjoyed the outdoors, talking and telling stories with friends and family, watching football, and most of all spending time with his grandsons. Bill is survived by his sons, Kurt and Melanie Lenz, of St. Petersburg; Ryan and Christine Lenz, of Pine Twp.; and five grandsons Connor, Bradan, Elijah, William, and Benjamin. He is also survived by his brothers, Jack and Pam Lenz of Sharon and David and Barbara Lenz of Harwick. Family and friends will be received on Sunday October 10th from 5-7 pm at the Redmond Funeral Home Inc., 524 High St. in Freeport. Visitation will continue Monday October 11th from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11 am in the Trinity Lutheran Church 323 Fifth St. in Freeport. Pastor Eric Damon will officiate.
