Obituary

William S. Walker, 67, of Buffalo Twp., passed away on Tuesday, July 25th, at his residence. Bill was born in Gettysburg, on November 10, 1955, a son of the late Joan (Hostetter) Miller and Robert S. Walker. He was a graduate of Freeport Area High School. Bill was a member of the North Buffalo Sportsman's Club. He was a night shift supervisor at Action Industries in Harmar for over 20 years. He then worked as a mechanic and driver for W.L. Roenigk at the Sarver garage for 23 years, where he got the nickname “Ballsy”. Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed watching all the Pittsburgh sports teams. He loved being a father and husband and his family was the most important to him. Bill is survived by his wife of 19 years, Mary (Beasley) (Szczypinski) Walker; his children, Tanya (Randy) Walker-Smith, of Dayton; Robert William Walker, of Ford City, Keia (Antonio) Randolph, of Washington Twp., OH, DeDeshia (Kevin) Mariner, of Arnold; Nicoya Walker, of Arnold, William S.(Jennifer) Walker, of Vandergrift and Josh Walker, of Brackenridge. He is also survived by his step-daughters, Jennifer Szczypinski, of Pittsburgh and Christine (Michael Toy) Szczypinski, of Tarentum; 21 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; sisters Sue (Dale) Daniels, of Chicora, Carol (Bob) Fry, of West Deer and Betty (Clint Lohler) Huss, of Fawn; a host of nieces and nephews and his loyal companion Cody. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Nancy Jean Walker, granddaughter Zhylaie Trammell and step-father John Miller. Family and friends will be received from 1-3 pm & 5-7 pm Saturday, July 29th at the Redmond Funeral Home, Inc. 524 High St. Freeport. His ashes will be buried with his family in Evergreen Cemetery in Gettysburg at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North Buffalo Sportsman's Club 255 Tr849 Kittanning, PA 16201.
