Roy T. Brendlinger, 88, of South Buffalo Twp., passed away on Friday, November 30th, surrounded by family, at his residence. Roy was born in Alliance, OH on January 2, 1930, a son of the late Josephine (Lewis) and Roy E. Brendlinger. He was the widower of Loretta V. (Denke) Brendlinger, who passed away in 2007. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WW II. After his service to his country, Roy worked for Alcoa Corporation in their research and development department for 41 years retiring in 1992. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeport. Roy was also a member of the VFW in Kittanning and the American Legion in Tarentum. Roy enjoyed travel, reading, gardening and the company of his family. Roy is survived by his two daughters, Rose (Briant) Knechtel, of Holly Springs, NC, & Corina (Timothy) Trainer, of Bethesda, MD; three sons Arthur R. (Beth) Brendlinger, of South Buffalo Twp., Shawn (Amanda) Brendlinger, of Petrolia, PA, & Kurt (Jessica) Brendlinger, of Freeport. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Lauren (William) Jaroudi, Brian Laughner, Jason Brendlinger, Mark Brendlinger, Joshua Knechtel and Kasie Brendlinger.  Great-granddaughter Penelope Angel Laughner; and his sister Mary Lou Higgins, of Alliance, OH. At the family's request there will be no visitation and Roy will be buried wife his wife in the Slate Lick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to; American Cancer Society P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718
