Alice A. Kirkner, 66, of North Buffalo Twp., passed away at 2:00 p.m., August 5th, peacefully, at Kittanning Care Center. Alice was born in Butler on January 31, 1947. She is the daughter of Ruth May-Hasselback of Butler and the late John May. She was a member of Center United Methodist Church in Fawn Twp. Alice was a graduate of Har-Brack High School and graduated from Slippery Rock University with a degree in elementary education. Alice had raised her children in the Freeport area and was as a substitute elementary teacher for 20 years with the Freeport Area School District. She also work for numerous daycare centers in the area for 10 years. After her children graduated she had moved to and lived in Renfrew, PA for 10 years. The past few years she had lived with her daughter in North Buffalo Twp. Alice enjoyed traveling and camping with her family. She enjoyed doing craft work and loved animals.

She is survived by her 3 children: Kristi Kirkner, of North Buffalo Twp.; Jason (Shelly) Kirkner, of North Buffalo Twp. and Stephen (April) Kirkner, of Chesapeake, VA; She is also survived by her 3 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Abigail and Ava Kirkner. 2 Sisters Joan (Dennis) Morgan, of Anchorage, AK. Patsy (Bill) Myers, of Natrona Heights and her ex-husband, Richard Kirkner of North Buffalo Twp.
She is preceded in death by her brother, John Jeffrey May.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.. in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. in Freeport. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 10:00 am on Friday, August 9th 2013 With Chaplin Mike Alfieri of Grane Hospice officiating. Burial service will be held in Mt. Airy Cemetery Natrona Heights, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association 1100 Liberty Avenue, Suite E-201 Pittsburgh, PA 15222
