Richard A. Clowes, 85, of Sugar Creek Twp., passed away at 12:50 a.m., Friday, June 22nd, while in the company of family members, at Sugar Creek Rest, Sugar Creek Twp. Richard was born in Sarver, on August 12, 1926, the son of the late Delvis (Barnes) and William A. Clowes. He was a member of the Hannahstown Road Baptist Church, in Cabot. Richard was a scaleman for US Steel in Saxonburg for 25 years, retiring in 1982. He was a 50 year member of the Armstrong F and AM 239, in Freeport, and also a member of the Syria Shriners.

He is survived by his wife Lois Mae (Wilkewitz) Clowes, his son William (Luann) Clowes, of Franklin; two daughters Carole A. Schoentag of Saxonburg, and her fiancAC. William Farmer, and Judith (Kenneth) Bollinger, of Washington. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, and his sister S. Eleanor Bowser of Oil City.

Richard was preceded in death by his first wife Edith Ishman, granddaughter Janice Radke, sister A. Evonne Christie, and two brothers Robert and William "Art" Clowes.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday June 24th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. Freeport. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 25th, with the Rev. Mark Wagner officiating. Burial will be held in the Union Cemetery, South Buffalo Twp.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children 1645 West 8th St. Erie, PA 16505
