Mrs. Betty Jane Stivenson, 78, of Buffalo Twp., passed away at 12:30 p.m., Monday, March 21st, 2011 peacefully at Alle-Kiski Medical Center in Natrona Heights.

Betty was born in Fawn Twp., Allegheny Co. on October 3, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Sytha (Haught) Knox. She was also the widow of Elvin G. Stivenson who preceded her in 2009. Betty was a faithful member of Lighthouse Fellowship Center, in Sarver and loved being involved with activities at her church. She worked for a number of years as a candy dipper at Arensberg Candies in Brackenridge. She enjoyed camping and bowling. Her greatest love was her family and all her grandchildren.

She is survived by her 2 sons; Randall G. and Janet Stivenson, Sr. of Buffalo Twp. and Roger C. and Valerie Stivenson of Freeport. 7 grandsons; Ben (Emily) Rose, Randy (Stephanie) Stivenson, Jr. Matthew, Brandon, Brian, Dylan and Eric Stivenson. 9 great-grandchildren; , Hannah, Daris, Madison, Paige, Kaydence, Courtney and Emily Stivenson. Cassie and Morgan Rose. She is also survived by her sister, Mildred Traister of Lancaster, PA.

Betty is preceded in death by her daughter Sandra L. Rose who passed in 1995. 3 brothers; her twin, Albert and Rich and Earl Knox. 2 sisters; Martha Beam and Twilia Crissman.

Family and friends are being received on Wed. March 23rd from 2-4 and 6-8. in the
Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. Freeport. There will be public visitation held at her church, Lighthouse Fellowship Center from 10 -11 am on Thursday March 24th to be followed by a funeral service at 11 am. with Rev Richard Shick officiating. Burial will be held in the Sarverville Cemetery in Sarver, PA.

I loved Great Aunt Betty! She was a beautiful lady with great faith, kindness, and always a beautiful smile. I feel better knowing she will be waiting for me one day. We will meet again in His glory! My deepest sympathy to all of the family.

Aunt Betty was a beautiful lady. She had a heart of gold. I always enjoyed spending time with her and Uncle Al. I have such wonderful memories of the times I visited with her and all her family and the camping trips too. I am so glad I got to spend time with her the last few times we were home. She will be greatly missed.
