Mr. Richard Skibicki, 78, of Buffalo Twp., passed away at 12:29 PM, Wednesday, April 15th, 2009 peacefully at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.

Richard was born in the Birdville section of Natrona Heights PA on March 31, 1931, the son of the late Waclaw (Walter) and Zophia (Rudnicki) Skibicki.

He was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church Freeport, PA 16229.

He worked as a truck driver, crane man and a roll turner at Allegheny Ludlum Steel in Brackenridge for 42 years. He retired in 1993.

Mr. Skibicki was a social member of the Freeport VFW, Natrona Heights VFW, Brackenridge American Legion, Tarentum Eagles, Tarentum Moose Lodge, Saxonburg Vol. Fire Dept., United Steelworkers of America Pensioners Club and the Polish Roman Catholic Union. Richard enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, deep sea fishing, polka dancing, going to camp at Snow Shoe and spending time with his family.



Richard is survived by his three daughters, Phyllis (Jim) Hudak of Freeport; Linda L. (Thomas) Vozar of Leechburg, PA; Marlene (Bob Angus) Thoma of Natrona, son, Walter N. (Beth) Skibicki of Chicora, PA and a brother, Robert (Della) Skibicki of Massillon, OH.

He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Betty J. (Swartzlander) Skibicki who passed in 1999. His 2 brothers and 5 sisters.

Family and friends are being received on Friday April 17th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. Freeport. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening in the funeral home.

A parting prayer service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 am that will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Freeport, PA, at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 18th, with Father Edward Volz officiating.
Burial will be held at Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights
