Gary L. Kepple, 74, of Buffalo Twp, passed away on Friday, July 29th, while in the company of family members, at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights. Gary was born in Kittanning, PA on November 15, 1941. He was the son of the late Catherine E. (Atkinson) and Clark R. Kepple. Gary was a 1959 graduate of Freeport High School and graduated in 1963 from Salem College in West Virginia with a bachelors degree in health and physical education. He was a Phys Ed. teacher at Freeport Area High School for for over 30 years retiring in 1993. Gary was an assistant football coach under the late Don Early for 19 years. He was the head coach at Freeport from 1985-1992. He received the "Coach of the Year" award 1989 when his team played in the WPIAL finals at Three Rivers Stadium. Gary was inducted into the Armstrong Co. Hall Fame in 2002 for his coaching accomplishments. He had coach track at Freeport for 21 years as well. Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at his camp. He and 3 of his fishing buddies got together every year for the last 40 years for a fishing trip to Canada. Gray's greatest love was his family Gary is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Ann (Glowacki) Kepple. His son Rob (Kay) Kepple of Freeport. His daughter, Leanne (Scott) Shick, of Murrysville. His grandchildren, Victoria L. Kepple, Alexandrea M. Kepple, Hunter T. Kepple, Tanner S. Shick, Mallory L. Shick, Joseph Cirillo and Caroline Cirillo. He is also survived by his 3 brother in laws; Robert (Barb) Glowacki, Ronald (Carma) Glowacki, Thomas (Sandy) Glowacki and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard Kepple. Family and friends will be received on Monday August 1st from 2-4 & 7-9 pm in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. in Freeport. Funeral service will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeport at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 2nd, with Rev. Hester Shick officiating. Burial will be held in Freeport Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to; Orphans of the Storm 11878 Pennsylvania 85 Kittanning, PA 16201
