Joseph W. Cornuet, 85, of Freeport passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 4th, at Elmcroft Of Saxonburg. Joe was born in Tarentum on January 28, 1932. He was the son of the late Clara (Kalnowski) and Joseph L. Cornuet. Joe was a graduate of Freeport High School. After graduating he went to work at Allegheny Ludlum Steel in Brackenridge. Joe enlisted in the US Marines when the Korean War began. When he was discharged from the Marines he came back to Freeport and took a job with Key Bellevilles Inc. in Allegheny Twp. Joe was a faithful member of Evangel Heights Assembly of God in Sarver. Joe enjoyed playing golf, working in his yard, vacationing down south and traveling in his RV. He was a member of the F&AM Armstrong Lodge #239 in Freeport and the White Star Club. Joseph is survived by his wife of 65 years, Martha L. (Elder) Cornuet. Their two daughters, Cindy Cornuet-Furlong, of Freeport and Michelle & Joe Mohney, of Freeport. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren; Missy & Shawn Burns, Micah & Brandy Wood, Tiffany Merryman, Heidi Tady and his 10 great grandchildren. Joe is preceded by his sister, Louise Arner and his brother, Ray Cornuet. Family and friends will be received on Friday, April 7th from 11am -1pm at the Evangel Heights Assembly of God, 120 Beale Rd. in Sarver. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 pm in the sanctuary of the church with Pastor Dan Corfield officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Evangel Heights Assembly of God 120 Beale Road Sarver, PA 16055
