Mr. Ernest D. Rusz, 77, of Freeport, passed away at 8:05 am, Wednesday, April 6th, 2011 peacefully at Alle-Kiski Medical Center in Natrona Heights.

Ernest was born in the McVille area of South Buffalo Twp. on February 26, 1934. He was the son of the late Martin C. and Julia R. (Dougherty) Rusz.

Ernie had worked many jobs over the years. He had worked for Shoop's Bronze Co. in Tarentum, P.P.G. in Creighton, General Motors Fisher Body Plant in Ohio, Freeport Brick Co. in Creighton, Saxonburg Ceramics and U.S. Steel in Saxonburg and he retired as the custodian at Freeport Area Junior High after many years of service. Ernie enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and building bird houses.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lois J. (Brown) Rusz. 2 daughters Bonnie Eshenbaugh of Freeport and Cindy Farr of Ford City. 5 grandchildren; Ronald Eshenbaugh, Michelle Walter, Kimberly (Jason) Crooks, Joshua Farr and Nikki Taladay. 10 great-grandchildren; Michael, Hunter, Myranda, Jackie Jean, Paul, Joey, Jonas, Dustin, Brody and Mason. 2 sisters Rosetta Eshenbaugh of Freeport , Vivian (Paul) Stull of Freeport and a brother, Gerald Rusz

Family and friends are being received on Friday April 8th from 5-8 p.m. in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. Freeport, PA

A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 9th, with Rev. Dr. Paige L. D. Creach of Freeport United Presbyterian Church officiating.

Private burial service will be held at Mt. Airy Cemetery Natrona Heights, PA.
