Mr. Ronald L. VanTine, 71, of Buffalo Twp., passed away at 1:38 AM, Friday, January 1st, 2010 peacefully at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Harrison Twp, PA.

Ronald was born in Brackenridge, PA on October 8, 1938, the son of the late Charles F. and Margaret L. (Kerr) VanTine.

Ron had served in the US Army. He worked as a welder and maintenance for Pullman Standard in Butler for a number of years. Ron had also worked for Holbien Inc. as well as his own logging company, son's excavating business and the family farm.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Edna M. (McNeal) VanTine. Their 2 sons, Ronald T. (Pamela) VanTine of Buffalo Twp. and Randy VanTine of Buffalo Twp. Their daughter Sherry Y. (James) Mitchell of Buffalo Twp. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Ronald, Jason, Courtney, Matthew VanTine and Shelby and Shannon Mitchell. 1 great grandson, Jesse James VanTine.

Ronald is also survived by two sisters, Maxine (Rudy) Cannaco of Cheswick, PA; , Deborah (Steve) Horvath of Porter, IN. Four brothers, David (Kathy) VanTine of West Winfield Twp.; Richard (Sandy) VanTine of Buffalo Twp.; Larry VanTine of Trenton, NJ and Charles VanTine of South Buffalo Twp. He is preceded in death by his sister Marilyn Brezenski

Family and friends are being received on Monday Jan 4th from 10 am to 12 p.m. in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. Freeport, PA

A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 4th, with Rev. Howard Greenfield of Zion United Methodist Church in Sarver officiating.

Graveside Services will be held in Brookland Cemetery Allegheny Twp., PA.
