Mrs. Sarah Grace Thomas, 91, of Freeport, PA., passed away at 9:15 AM, Monday, June 15th, 2009 at her daughter June's residence where she had received loving care for the past 2 years.

Grace was born in Elderton, PA on March 17, 1918, the daughter of the late Mabon Lee and Marjorie (Thomas) Miller. She was the widow of William E. Thomas who passed in 1980

She was a member of Freeport United Presbyterian Church Freeport, where she served as a deacon and an elder for many years.

She was a homemaker who kept and provided a lovely and loving home for her seven children.

Grace volunteered for the Freeport Meals on Wheels for many years. She loved bowling and was a member of the Flower Patch Bowling League. She enjoyed going to the beach on vacation, camping, traveling, playing cards and flower gardening. What she enjoyed more that anything was spending time with her family.

She is survived by 4 children: Thomas M. (Sally) Thomas of South Buffalo Twp.; Donna Jean (Harold) Fleming of Dayton, PA; Carol Kelly of DuBois; June (John) Cicola of Lower Burrell;
Her two daughter-in-laws, Joy Hangey of Indiana, PA and Cathy Henry of Lakeland, Fl; her brother-in-law John (Jane) Thomas of Ligonier, PA. and her two sister-in-laws, Gladis Miller of Indiana, PA and Susan Thomas of Murrysville. She is also survived by her 21 grand, 34 great-grand and numerous great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in by her 3 sons; James, William and Robert Thomas. Her 2 grandsons, Gary and Allen Thomas. Son-in-law, Leroy Kelly and her daughter -in-law Joan Thomas. Her 3 sisters, Helen Rising, Freda and Twila Miller. Her brothers, Ward and Edgar Miller.

Family and friends are being received on Wednesday June 17th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.. in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 high St. Freeport, PA

A Funeral Service will be held at Freeport United Presbyterian Church, Freeport, PA, at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 18th, with Rev. William Mumaw officiating.

Burial service will be held in the Freeport Cemetery Freeport, PA.
