Donald E. "Duck" Gratzer, 83, of Renfrew, PA, passed away on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot. Duck was born in Freeport on January 1, 1937, a son of the late Dorothy (Campbell) and John Gratzer. Duck was a 1954 graduate of Freeport High School. After graduation, Duck joined the US Army. He served as a truck driver and was honorably discharged in 1957. He came back home to the area and took a job with Moonlight Mushroom Co. in Winfield Twp. Duck worked for 33 years and retired as a supervisor in 1990. Don is survived by his wife of 61 years, Norma L. (Hemphill) Gratzer. His son, Brian & Connie Gratzer, of Renfrew, daughter, Trudy Ludwiczak, of North Carolina. 2 grandchildren, Michael & Christopher Ludwiczak, a step grandson, Sam Grazulis and great granddaughter Hailey Bubash. Don is also survived by his brother, Harold & Jan Gratzer of St. Louis, MO and his sister, Dottie Mae & Leo Hanna of Concord, NC. Don is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Raymond Gratzer. At Don's request there will be no public visitation and he will be buried at Mt. Airy Cemetery in Natrona Heights.
